Psychedelic Suburbia -- David Bowie and The Beckenham Arts Lab w/ Mary Finnigan

Mary Finnigan was born in Manchester, UK. She moved to London in the early 1960s to take up a career in journalism.

She worked for national newspapers including The Daily Mirror and the Sunday Times and also spent many years in broadcast journalism -- as a correspondent, editor and documentary maker. In 1969 she met the rock star David Bowie, who introduced her to Tibetan Buddhism.

Her practice continues to the present day. Mary has also published a range of investigative material on power, sexual and financial abuses in Tibetan Budhhism, mostly for The Guardian newspaper.

In particular she has exposed abuse perpetrated by the lama Sogyal Lakar aka Rinpoche. Mary's book Psychedelic Suburbia -- David Bowie and The Beckenham Arts Lab was published in January 2016. It is available on Amazon.
