The Atheist Republic w/ Armin Navabi

Armin Navabi joins us on the Mythicist Milwaukee Show podcast! Armin is a former Muslim from Iran and the founder of Atheist Republic, a non-profit organization with over one million fans and followers worldwide that is dedicated to offering a safe community for atheists around the world to share their ideas and meet like-minded individuals.

Armin was born and raised in the Islamic Republic of Iran and was indoctrinated thoroughly in the Muslim tradition. After almost losing his life in the pursuit of God’s grace, the devastation of that event motivated him to seek a better understanding of the nature and concept of God and religious belief. Armin’s journey led him to leaving Islam and becoming an atheist.

Wanting to reach out to others like himself, Armin continues to examine religion as well as the notion of God and interact with others to engage in thought-provoking and educational discussion.

Armin is the author of “Why There Is No God: Simple Responses to 20 Common Arguments for the Existence of God” which provides simple, easy-to-understand counterpoints to the most popular arguments made for the existence of God. Each chapter presents a concise explanation of the argument, followed by a response illustrating the problems and fallacies inherent in it. Whether you're an atheist, a believer or undecided, this book offers a solid foundation for building your own inquiry about the concept of God.

The Gospel of Atheism and Freethought According to Michael Sherlock

michale sherlock.jpg

Michael Sherlock on the Mythicist Milwaukee Show

Michael A. Sherlock is an atheist author who, was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and spent many years in Tasmania. He studied social Anthropology and Sociology, Political Science, and Law at the University of Tasmania and became fascinated by the myths of our ancient ancestors. This fascination led him to study comparative mythology, which in turn led him to investigate the non-Judaic origins of the Bible.

Sherlock's aim as an author is to expose the "sacred" lies, frauds and forgeries of religion. Sherlock says: "Before we can clear a path to finding truth, whatever that may be, we must first neutralize the filth which has infected the minds of so many...supernaturalism, superstition, pseudo-science, and religion, all embody this mental filth, and the scientific method, with its humble, honest and evidence-based approach to questions of probable truth, represents the neutralizer." He is the author of the 3 part book series “I am Christ”, and “The Gospel of Atheism and Freethought: according to Sherlock”. His new book is entitled “Blasphemy” and was published by our friends at Atheist Republic.

Michael takes us through some of his new book and explains why he states “ISIS is Islam or Islamism”. He also explains what the “atheist atrocity fallacy” is and why it is used to make atheism look like a negative ideology. We put to bed the nasty and very false accusation made by CJ Werleman that Michael Sherlock influenced the Chapel Hill shooter to kill three Muslims over a parking spot, because the Chap Hill shooter liked Michael’s Facebook page. We cover all of this and more! Don’t miss this interview!

She inspired many people to learn more about the mythological origins of modern day religions. The Mythicist Milwaukee team will miss her very much.

To pay tribute we wanted to reflect on what she meant to others and listen to their stories and experiences with this amazing individual who has passed away on December 25, 2015. To honor her legacy, a panel made up of Aron Ra, David Fitzgerald, Miguel Conner, and Dr. Robert Price along with the Mythicist Milwaukee team, discussed the impact that Acharya’s work and friendship had on their lives.
